Piruka Contest

Everyone’s favorite - “Piruka” Contest is back! We look forward to everyone taking part in this fantastic event and sharing in a variety of fabulous flavors. Contest rules: -Voting will be in two categories - meat and vegetable pirukad. -Pirukad must be premade -Prepares should make the pirukad for about 50 people (they can be cut in half) -Preparers pay no fee. -Tasters pay a $10 fee per person. -Tasters will vote for the best pirukas in both categories. -Prizes will be given to the winners in each category. -Preparers and tasters must register by January 15, 2016 with Liisi Fletcher - (Liisi.Fletcher@gmail.com or 347-683-3632)

Kaisa Ling Thing Duo Concert

Provocative, quasi-political and downright braggy, somewhat refined while teetering on the edge of tawdry, Estonia’s best (albeit the only) vaudeville blues band Kaisa Ling Thing casts a passionate message into dynamic musical form. The future grand old lady of Estonian blues Kaisa Ling and pianist Rene Paul have played together since 2018. Kaisa Ling Thing has released two LPs and two blues musicals. They have toured their glitzy and flamboyant, yet self-conscious and emotionally vulnerable vaudeville blues all over Estonia, and are now taking on the world stage with their first English-language fringe show "The Feminist’s Handbook for Eastern Europe".
